Default Mailman and "The maximum each domain can send out per hour" setting

Does anyone know for sure, whether the WHM Tweak Setting option "The maximum each domain can send out per hour" affects mailman lists?

For example if we set the limit to 500. A customer has a mailman list with 600 members and sends out a mailing to all of them. Will it be delivered to all 600 or 500 only and the rest bounced?

Please I need no quessing - I need to know for sure. We're using suexec/phpsuexec if that makes any difference.

I've done some testing with this in the past. That limiter does also include mailman mailing lists and counts every recipient against the users domain.

Having suexec and/or phpsuexec has no bearing on this.

Do the excess messages get bounced/dropped or queued for later delivery?

I believe that it gets bounced back to the sender.

and if you have mailman set to process bounces, it records the bounces and discards the bounced messages. This is why it was such a pain to confirm why the emails bounced ..

I have to say that the feature can be a pain at times. However, I've been saved just last week from a spammer who got access to someones site through a CGI script and was sending out spam and they got stopped in their tracks and so avoided huge problems.

I struggle with this all the time, I set it to a number because I dont want spam on my servers...

On other servers I have managed spam has been a real issue, to the point of having to disable php-sendmail.

If anyone knows any alternatives to this let me know id be very interested.
