    Default Mailman problems

    Mailman is giving me problems again. As of now, email getting sent to a list gets bounced:

    This is a Mailman mailing list bounce action notice:

    List: Friends
    Member: ktrauber@XXX.gwu.edu
    Action: Subscription disabled.
    Reason: Excessive or fatal bounces.

    You can reenable their subscription by visiting the membership
    management page at

    http://DOMAIN/mailman/admin/friends_dopeshiznit.net/members
    and setting their options accordingly

    The triggering bounce notice is attached below.

    mailman-owner@SERVER.net.

    Not sure what\'s causing this. It just happened today.

    Any suggestions?

    Same here. Several reports (since yesterday) of emails that are sent to lists not being delivered at all. I checked the exim_rejectlog and there were entries such as:

    2001-10-22 10:41:01 refused relay (host) to <trevor@subcriberdomain.com> from <listname-admin@somedomain.com> H=host.domain.com [127.0.0.1]

    I\'ve checked to make sure the domain is in /etc/localdomains. Would this have anything to do with the following lines in /etc/exim.conf:

    sender_verify = true
    headers_sender_verify = true

    because those lines have been known to cause me problems in the past and setting them to false helped.

    tabernack, did that fix it? I would really like to get this fixed ASAP since all the mailings are getting rejected.

    adding the line:

    trusted_users = nobody

    in /etc/exim.conf

    fixes the problem we had. The problem is when cpanel updates exim, is does not keep your customized exim.conf so you will have to make the changes again if cpanel updates exim.

    This fixed it for us as well.

    Can we not arrange for cpanel to update *correctly* so that the corrections are not overwritten?

    Mailman has been nothing but trouble for us in the last 4 weeks. Our users complain their posts are not going through. I have no offer as a fix. I haven\'t a clue. I have checked error logs, deleted and readded lists, check list settings, etc.

    I believe DarkOrb should fix this or stop offering it in Cpanel. We have no choice but to take if off of our feature list on our website just as we had to stop offering IMAP to our customers as IMAP in Cpanel has never worked.

    It is frustrating to say the least.

    I agree 100%, DarkOrb has to get off their aZZ and do something about this crap. Its starting to get ridiculous that every trouble ticket has to do with either email or mailman.

    another report today of this happening. Any email sent to the list is just not getting delivered.

    Any idea on when, how, where this will be fixed? Any idea on what we tell dozens of clients who rely on mailman for their business?
