    Default Mails from account on server rejected. Does anybody know a fix for this?

    I have a client who has an email with a major mail service company in Russia. When he sends mails to his mail account with them from his account at our server it is rejected. The Russian mail company says that

    we must correct error in reverse zone and
    stop calling xx.xxx.xx.xxx root server of the internet.

    $ host xx.xxx.xx.xxx
    127.79.241.64.IN-ADDR.ARPA domain name pointer

    The reason their server are rejecting the mails should thus be bad "Received" headers.

    I have had support techs look into this issue for nearly two weeks now but noone have so far found a solution to the problem.

    Does anybody here know how to fix this problem? - He uses the same email address from that Russian company at his help desk account and mails from the help desk to his external email address are not rejected (the help desk is on another server which I unfortunately do not have root access to).

    Thanks
    John

    Tell your provider to try this:
    route del -net ###.###.###.#/22 eth0

    They should know what it does and what IP to use.

    I'm not sure what it does. All I know is I've had problems with sending and receiving email between addresses at the same NOC and that's what my provider did. They said it's a small bug in cpanel that causes it. Twice now in the last year or so, after a cp upgrade, I ran into that problem. Both times they issued that command and all was well again.

    Thanks squirrel - it's my own server. Did you mean the NOC with 'provider'? - or should I try executing this command myself via SSH?

    If you know what that command does and what IP is supposed to be there, you can run it yourself. Otherwise just ask your server provider to do it. My provider said I can do it myself next time, but I know that number isn't my sites or servers IP. I think it's the routing IP or something like that.

    A man route tells me it's to deal with the routing table. I found out something new.
