The problem is that the procedures on the internet for installing the rpm version of MailScanner are mostly out of date. cPanel now uses a split spool directory and you need to take that into account when configuring MailScanner. This means that you either need to follow the procedures in this post:
http://forums.cpanel.net/cpanel-whm-discussions/31576-bigscrewup-exim-4-43-30-a-post150118.html

Or, dispose of it, and use my installation procedure instead:

Did you configure the rules files to scan your domains (or run the mscpanel.pl script)?

Hi Chirpy ,

After i run "sh install.sh" , it installs and everything seems to be fine.
And after that i configured Mailscanner.conf ,

There are tow things i changed is "Virus Scanning = yes" and "Virus Scanner = nod32-1.99"

I have nod32lfs installed in my server , and i think it works fine ..

But it doesn't work with MailScanner , can you send me some of the log that showing that it's working?

Only Log i see about mailscanner is

"Dec 10 18:49:05 host MailScanner[9541]: MailScanner E-Mail Virus Scanner version 4.36.4 starting...
Dec 10 18:49:06 host MailScanner[9541]: Using locktype = posix
Dec 10 18:49:06 host MailScanner[9541]: Creating hardcoded struct_flock subroutine for linux (Linux-type)
Dec 10 18:49:15 host MailScanner[9630]: MailScanner E-Mail Virus Scanner version 4.36.4 starting...
Dec 10 18:49:16 host MailScanner[9630]: Using locktype = posix
Dec 10 18:49:16 host MailScanner[9630]: Creating hardcoded struct_flock subroutine for linux (Linux-type) "

I don't know that i did something wrong or not.

Please advise ,

George

Chirpy ,

and one thing i saw is this too

"root@host [/var/spool/exim_incoming]# ls -l
total 20
drwxr-x--- 5 mailnull mail 4096 Dec 10 19:08 ./
drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 Dec 10 19:08 ../
drwxr-x--- 2 mailnull mail 4096 Dec 10 19:08 db/
drwxr-x--- 64 mailnull mail 4096 Dec 10 19:08 input/
drwxr-x--- 2 mailnull mail 4096 Dec 10 19:08 msglog/
root@host [/var/spool/exim_incoming]# cd ..

root@host [/var/spool]# cd exim
root@host [/var/spool/exim]# ls -l
total 3748
drwxr-x--- 6 mailnull mail 4096 Aug 12 15:15 ./
drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 Dec 10 19:08 ../
drwxr-x--- 2 mailnull mail 4096 Dec 8 09:58 db/
-rw-r--r-- 1 mailnull mail 6 Dec 10 19:18 exim-daemon.pid
drwxr-x--- 62 mailnull mail 2699264 Dec 10 19:34 input/
drwxr-x--- 62 mailnull mail 1110016 Dec 10 19:18 msglog/
drwxr-x--- 2 mailnull mail 4096 Dec 8 23:58 scan/
root@host [/var/spool/exim]# "

seem that the mail doesn't go in to "exim_incoming" at all after i install it.

Time is not the same

Is this why MailScanner didn't scan mail for me ?

Do you have any way out for this problem?

Thank you,
George

Hi Chirpy ,

I think i know what's wrong with my mailscanner ,

I think it's about exim.conf and exim_outgoing.conf

right now seem that mailscanner is working but i can't get the email that it scans.

So can i see your exim.conf and exim_outgoing.conf?

can you please send it to my email?

it's burachat@activemedia.co.th

best regards,
George
