Question Main email account unrouteable (550)

    Hi all,

I have a problem with a main email account. When sending email to it gives an error:
"550 message to verify they are valid".

In /var/log/exim_mainlog it says "Unrouteable address".

This is a main email account so it definitely exists.. 1 other mailbox on this domain, no problems with that one. Default mail is set to go to this 2nd mailbox. No mailforwarders setup.

I found some threads but nothing that could solve my problem.
    /etc/valiases/<domain> seems normal:

    2ndboxname@domain.tld: |/usr/local/cpanel/bin/autorespond 2ndboxname@domain.tld /home/cpanelusername/.autorespond
    *: 2ndboxname

    <domain> is in /etc/localdomains

    Any suggestions?

    All comments greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Unhappy

I have a similar (maybe related?) problem...

If I create a new site, the default address is defined, but email sent to it seems to go to :blackhole:

If I re-define the default to $someother_alias it's fine, but why is this?

    Any thoughts?

Ummm... my problem is down to the INBOX being created with 644 privileges, rather than 660

Don't know why... but "chmod 660 inbox" fixes it

/scripts/mailperm is always worth doing when you have any mail issues.

    Tnx for your comments

Sadly for me, /scripts/mailperm (and /scipts/exim4) doesn't fix my problem. Thanks for the tip do... did exim4 but left out mailperm..

    Any other thoughts?
