    Question main shared virtual host IP problem and Cant resolve domain name

    Hi,

    First of all ,My hostname was Deserver4. But then our clients said that they cant send or receive mails . So we contacted our hosting support and they said you need to have FQDN. Then we changed it as Deserver4.name.org . But after then, our main shared virtual IP address is not working. So none of clients site is working now.

    Next problem is I can access my site by using the dedicated IP address , but when I try to access my site by entering its name its not loading. The problem with DNS? If so what has to be done to solve it? I can access my WHM. What may be the problem? I have opened a support ticket to my host but then, they are not replying anymore . Since we are under huge clients pressure I am posting here and seeking for your help. Any idea volunteers? Thanks in advance.

    What is the main shared IP address on the machine for us to check it?

    Can you please run ifconfig and provide the results? Just this command basically:

    The main shared IP appears to be XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX IP based on ifconfig output? What is the IP listed in /etc/wwwacct.conf file?

    But XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is our dedicated IP. Here is the output:

    Can you run this command:

    I want to see what the main outgoing IP shows for the machine.

    The server is reporting the main IP as XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

    You need to get ahold of your hosting provider to have them fix this issue. That is not a dedicated IP now.

    Hi tristan, finally I got the reply from the host. They said

    "the Router lost the IP from the ARP table."

    Finally everything is working now. Sorry for bothering you and thanks for the help. You are good.
