Default Major Problem Need Help ASAP

    Here is my problem:

Got a recycled server that I am guessing was not reformated before setup for me. Anyway. It still had SERVER.SMARTSHELLS.NET name server assigned to my main IP and it cannot be removed:

&Sorry, the nameserver ip 209.51.138.194 cannot be removing since it is till registered with a ICANN register. &

That name server is no longer pointing to the IP when I ping it from network-tools.com. I contacted smartshells.net but they said:

&this is a Reverse DNS Record, these types of records are stored on eServers' database. Please contact them about your dilema.&

I asked them &who& exactly I should contact and they will not answer me.

Does anyone know who they are referring to? This problem is causing email problems with scripts and getting alerts from the server. Also every time I log into WHM I get A entry popup, I add it and next time pops up again. I have checked resolve.conf and the other one the server suggests but did not help.

Any feedback or a point in the right direction will help immensly! Thanks!!!

P.S. - Does it make any difference that the server is set up as ds2.rcthost.net and there is no ds1, does that make a difference?

1st: Contact your dedicated server company and ask them to remove ANY reverse on your IPs, and make the nameserver reverses for your domain.
2nd: When your IP reverse is okey, send an email the ICANN register where you have the domain registered, asking that they need to setup or modify this DNS to the actual reverse, so they will need to change ns1.anything.com to ns1.yourdomain.com for the IP you own.
3rd: If this dont work... or you dont want to have problems... just ask your dedicated server company to change your IP block, or ask them to resolve your problem.

    btw... read in top:

Specific server problems should be addressed by using the support submission form in WHM, or emailing support@cpanel.net. Please do not post your server information and root password in these forums.
