memory and cpu usage out of comtrol

I am a complete newbie on this so bear with me.

I have an apache server running redhat9, I have just moved into this server 5 days ago. Everything was fine until sometime last night it started going thru the roof on memory and cpu usage. There is only one site on the server but it is a busy site and has a forum.
Ive been getting emails all day that the server has failed, in all points, apache has failed, mysql has failed, bind has failed etc.

Ive send support request to the host provider but its not getting anywhere.

Does any of this ring a bell?

Where can I start to try to fix this?

As for bind in ssh type:

service bind restart

as for your server overloading and Memory usage:
Is anyone got a bot on your there account or a big forum because that will do both memory and overloading the server.
