Hi All,

I'm looking for a little advice.

We are thinking about shifting our servers to run off a Equallogic SAN array. This will allow us to create, and expand volumes as an when we need. So we can start off with say, a small 40GB volume, and increase this as the server requirements increase.

All fine and dandy. So we increase the volume from 40GB to 80GB. Now have our existing partitioning, and a load of free unpartitioned space on the volume.

Now, how would you extend the partitions? We would be running RHEL... Can you suggest a method to:

a) just get the job done
and
b) get it done without any downtime

In this situation I would want to:

/usr - add another couple of GB's
/var - add another couple of GB's
/home - expand to fill the remaining space.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt
