    Default Mod_Gzip??? Need help

I tried installing mod_gzip by retrieving the file from layer1.cpanel.net, etc, I ran the file, sh mod_gzip-autoinstall.sea

At the end it prompted me to edit the httpd.conf file, which I did....

Now I'm still not seeing that it's installed how can I tell???

    Thanks
    Rob

    test it at http://leknor.com/code/gziped.php
It will say that page is gzipped if you did it right.

    Regards.

if I install mod_gzip will the compressed or uncompressed volume be counted in bandwidth summary? I mean one person may transfer 10gb of text files but if cpanel counts compressed content it would result in only about 2-3gb of data.

Gzip does not compress files like winzip as an example. What it does is:~

"Mod_gzip is an Internet Content Acceleration module for the popular Apache Web Server. It compresses the contents delivered to the client. There is no need to install any additional software on the client"

I beleive content as in the pages you see and not text files etc thats uploaded to a server.

    BUT I might be wrong.

    Regards.
