Moving Pains

I was wondering if there is any way to "backup" cpanel and whm configurations. Our provider found a faulty HD on our box and is going to give us a new server to switch everything over to. Is there a way that I can just transfer a couple config files over instead of having to set everything back up?

Why dont you have them mount the failing drive as a secondary drive in the new server them do a rsync to the new primary?

Primary HD was currupt. and was currupting files and such. They are going to install and new OS and cpanel and such.

I was not talking about CPanel and the OS. I was talking about the user data. 99% of everyone who has a failing drive will retrieve their data by having the drive mounted as a secondary or whatever so they can retrieve the USER DATA! Besides, you really should have backups, then you wouldnt be in such a big bind trying to restore your data.

You completely missed it man. I wasn't talking about the user accounts....

Most of what you want will be in:

/var/cpanel/packages/
/var/cpanel/features/
/var/cpanel/cpanel.config
/etc/wwwacct.conf

If you copy those dirs/files you'll have a head start after which you can then restore the account backups.
