    Default Mysql 4.1.7 problems

    Hello,

I got some problems with running the new mysql server/client. I updated the server and client, but when i restarted it. WHM shows up with the following error:
    • DBI connect('mysql:localhost','root',...) failed: Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client at /scripts/restartsrv_mysql line 74 mysql has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "mysql has failed")

I tried to reinstall the server and client manually, but got the same error. Hopefully someone can help me in here, im desperate.

    Tim

did you use the official rpms off http://dev.mysql.com?

if so, did you install all 6 rpms?

install all the rpms. itz better to use the official ones; but i case of dependency errors u can move to any other as well.

and for E-dentify; i have not come across such an error myself; but i think you will have to do it for all users. Try scripting this one so it be helpful to anyone as well.
