mysql access error

when i log in my cpanel, where it says
"SQL Disk usage" to the column to the right there is a MYSQL connection error
"/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)'" then it shows XX MEGABYTES

Please tell me how to fix. The password is the same as the root.
