mysql access hosts - error

Hi,

When adding an Access Host through the cPanel/MySQL section... cPanel does create a user@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for each MySQL Username on that account.

It is not GRANTing privilege's to any of the databases in that user's account though.

In other words... Trying to run MySQL queries from the remote host setup as an access host does not work.. because even though that remote host is allowed to connect.. it does not have permission to connect to any Database.

I can easily fix this by logging into the Root PHP MyAdmin, and granting permissions for that remote host.... but I didn't have to do this in the past.

Server / Version : WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R79 CentOS 4.4 i686


If anyone has similar problems, or if anyone knows how to fix this... Please let me know. This is getting very frusturating as clients hosted by me now have to contact us to manually GRANT their access hosts permission to their databases.

I'm running into the same problem, If you add a new host, you need to delete the user's access to the database, and then re-create the user, or as the OP said, manually run the GRANT option.

I figured out the removing the user from a database and then adding him back the other day as well..

Still, it's not working quite like it used too. When you used to add an access host... it would automatically do the GRANTS for all the existing user/databases pairs for the new access host.

You can also get around this by re-granting rights for a user to access a given database.

and still the same error....... is this the way bugzilla fixes cpanel scripts at next releases (see bugzilla entry)????

(the problem is there from WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R79, at least)

Your version of cPanel is out of date. Please do not report issues until you confirm they still exist in the latest version of the branch you are using.
