mysql databases missing!

Mysql had an error starting this morning and I had to run /scripts/mysqlup --force

Now the databaes were there AFTER, a few minutes later they disappear????

What the hell is wrong with mysql on cpanel?? I know many others on the forum have the same on going issues

What do I do?

/var/lib/mysql no longer has databases in it! Did cPanel attempt to do something to 'upgrade' or something? We run very large databases by normal cPanel standards (say around 900mb) but never had a problem in the past.

/var/lib/mysql/servername.err shows some interesting stuff last night:

This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary
or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built,
or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.
We will try our best to scrape up some info that will hopefully help diagnose
the problem, but since we have already crashed, something is definitely wrong
and this may fail.

It is possible that mysqld could use up to

cPane Version 10.2.0-R82
RH 7.3

I opened a ticket with our data center and asked them to open one with cPanel (since it seems datacenter licensed user can no longer open support tickets with cpanel directly.)

- Was anything done by cPanel that would cause this? Two people reporting such a strange thing at the same time seems... well, strange. Perhaps not a coincidence.

- And if so, is there somewhere I should be looking for a dump or other backup that cpanel might have created before doing its job? We're recovering manually from a not-that-recent backup now and will see how bad things look...

Tech from where? cPanel? This is not a place to get support from cPanel - as I've said many times. If you want a cPanel tech to respond to an issue that you have you need to log a support ticket with cPanel or through your license provider. Then feel free to post their recommendations here if you want.
