    Default MySQL disabled

    We got this message:

What we did today on this box:
    • upgrade cPanel from 11.23.2 release to 11.24 current
    • Upgrade to MySQL 5
    • Introduced Clamav.
The upgrade to MySQL5 resulted in an error, so we switched back.

We are now switching things back. Anyone seen this issue regarding MySQL disabled?

Downgrading to 11.23.2 fixed it. Within 11.24 >> service manager is MySQL not visible, so no possibility to switch on/off. Minor bug in 11.24?

I am unable to replicate this issue on cPanel 11.24.0-E30118. Perhaps you may want to have our technical analysts take a look at your server to determine why this is happening.

I will try to replicate the issue as well.

Having same issue on Freebsd 6.2 box, ftpd, mysqld, rsyslogd, syslogd all disabled. Cannot flag in service manager to turn on.

Just happened after upgraded to 11.24 current from older current version.

Tried to upgrade to cPanel 11.24.0-E30313 - WHM 11.24.0 - X 3.9 but no improvement.

manually change entries of services in chkservd.conf file and put 1 against these services. See the chkservd.conf file at the top of the thread for reference. Then restart chkservd

    /etc/init.d/chkservd stop
    /etc/init.d/chkservd start
1 solution works for all problems. Trying harder!

I did this and services still dead, still not showing, didn't help.

I will put a ticket on this right now.

Downgrade to a version prior to 11.24. That's what i did and worked.

Forgot to mention: we run FreeBSD 5.4 on this box.

But that's a temporary fix, so much new stuff is out on 11.24 and we really want to move forward on this. The Cpanel people are looking into this so hopefully we will see a fix this weekend.

Just an update, we upgraded to current 30671 and some of the disabled services cleared up but not mysql. On both of our Freebsd 6.2 boxes we cannot see mysql in services, service manager nor the service restart option of WHM. I still have a ticket open on this but it's been a few days and I hate having no mysql monitoring or anything else in WHM to control it.
