    Default MySQL keeps updating

    Everytime my server runs upcp (daily), it keeps updating mysql-shared.
    Here's what I get:

    Code:
    MySQL Setup Script Version 6.1
    Fetching version information from http://updates.cpanel.net/mysqlinstall/version (STABLE)....Done
    This is the MySQL 4.1.13 installer release number 0 for platform
    MySQL-shared is out of date (MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0
    MySQL-shared-4.1.14-0
    MySQL-shared-4.1.13-0 != MySQL-shared-4.1.13-0)
    MySQL-shared is out of date (MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0
    MySQL-shared-4.1.14-0
    MySQL-shared-4.1.13-0 != MySQL-shared-4.1.13-0)
    Using newyum support...
    Setting up Install Process
    And then it starts with selecting mirrors and the installation of MySQL 4.1.13

    I have tried fixmysql, mysqlup --force, upcp --force, re-installation of MySQL, rebooting and running these scripts again, but nothing seems to fix this issue.

    WHM tells me I have 'mysql 4.1.13-standard' installed and it working fine.

    Does someone know what's causing this?

    Looks like you have some old 4.0.25 MySQL rpms installed - try removing those and then running /scripts/mysqlup --force - be sure to backup your /var/lib/mysql beforehand just incase.

    Question

    I'm running mySQL 4.0.25, which as far as I can tell is a pretty old version. I know cPanel is supposed to manage the update, and I thought that this was the latest that cPanel supported until I came across this thread.

    So what's the deal: should I be running a newer version? why hasn't it updated? and can you please explain how to remove the old rpms for me to upgrade? Thanks.

    Have you set Tweak Settings > MySQL to 4.0 or 4.1?
