mysql odbc trouble, please help

When trying to connect through ODBC from this WindowsXP machine I get the following error:

My settings:

I have tried different databases, usernames, and websites. I am trying to connect through MyODBC Connector.

Specs:
cPanel/WHM 9.9.8
Centos 3.3

In ssh (root) I did the following steps:
RPM MyODBC was not found in the RPM list in WHM (even after rebuilding rpm list)

I went to http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html and got tried the first two options: Linux (x86, glibc-2.2, static, gcc) and Linux (x86, libc6)
I wasn't sure which to get.

shell> su root
shell> rpm -Uvh MyODBC-3.51.01.i386-1.rpm

I did this in both root directory and usr/local/lib directory. I tried second time and it said already installed but I still cannot connect.

Can you explain what you were trying to do? It sounds interesting, if your trying to do what i think you are.
