    Default MySQL playing up

Since we upgraded al our servers to 8.7.0 R 26, we've seen massive spikes in our loads, hitting 90+ - somtiems so bad, we have to get the data center to reboot as it becomes unresponsive.

This has happened on both servers, running RH 7.3 or RH 9.

It looks like it has something to do with MySQL - mysql keeps going down with this error:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/user/public_html/forum/index.php on line 67

Anyone know how to solve this?

    Cheers,

    Jee

I would check that script to make sure it's not looping for some reason. Also in SSH, type: hdparm -d /dev/hda (it should say on).

If that didn't help, you might try downgrading to Stable to see if that helps. I've never heard of MySQL doing that unwarranted.

It happens all over the server. I.e. on every site that uses mysql - they will get the same error.

How would you find the script in that case?

Same issue here. I have a process listed when I run top that says loop0 is that perhaps a process that needs killed? How would I prevent it from looping again next time they run their script? How can i determin the site that started the loop?

    Thanks,

    Matt
