mysql problem

hello
i have probleme on mysql when i try to start it i get this error :

/scripts/restartsrv mysql
Waiting for mysql to restart..............finished.


/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/tmp/mysql.sock' exists!
mysql has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "Warning, no valid mysql.sock file found.mysql has failed").

and when i open phpmyadmin i get this error Wrong username/password. Access denied.

please tell me how can i fix those errors

Search the forum with mysql.sock ..it has been discussed many many times before....
