    Angry MySQL Problems after Server Crash

    I had my ISP reimage Cpanel. Everything seems to work fine except for MySQL. I've searched the forums and googled my error to no avail.

    Here's what I've done so far. I installed MySQL forcefully via RPM Install in WHM. Here's what I see in the mysql error log:

    060418 12:48:10 mysqld started
    060418 12:48:10 InnoDB: Started
    060418 12:48:10 /usr/sbin/mysqld: Can't open file: 'host.MYI'. (errno: 142)
    060418 12:48:10 Fatal error: Can't open privilege tables: File '/usr/share/mysql/charsets/?.conf' not found (Errcode: 2)
    060418 12:48:10 Aborting

    How can I resolve this?

    Also, I tried updating Cpanel to the latest Edge, that didnt help. Furthermore, I tried doing /scripts/fixmysql and nothing happens.. I just get a command prompt (that's weird).

    Any help would be much appreciated!

    Tried all of that. Still did not work. Even more, I did a system update in WHM and get back all of these MySQL errors

    Code:
    dbdimp.c:3865: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
    dbdimp.c: In function `mysql_db_last_insert_id':
    dbdimp.c:3880: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
    make: *** [dbdimp.o] Error 1
      /usr/bin/make  -- NOT OK
    Running make install
      make had returned bad status, install seems impossible
    Bundle summary: The following items in bundle Bundle::DBD::mysql had
    installation problems:
      Mysql DBD::mysql
    Has anyone ever had a problem where /scripts/mysqlup/ and /scripts/fixmysql/ dont work and only return a command line and NOTHING else?

    I'll provide root access if someone could help me

    I found the problem. I looked in one of the mysql scripts (/scripts/mysqlup) and I found a line that said something like:

    exit if ( -e '/etc/mysqlupdisable' );

    I then looked for this file and saw that it existed. Once I removed it, I ran /scripts/mysqlup and it ran.

    Hope this helps someone.
