    Default MySQL Version Discrepancy

cPanel says that my version of MySQL is version 4.1.20-standard-log. However when I check the version within Shell it tells me I'm running MySQL-bench-4.1.21-0.glibc23.

Why is cPanel not reporting the correct version?

just remove the file at /home/<USERNAME>/.cpanel-datastore/_usr_sbin_mysqld_--version
then log back into your Cpanel. It will then display the correct version.
