    Default named failed to start

    Hey guys,

    1 of my client's server got named failed to start and my client said that he failed to upgrade to CentOS 5 so he revert back to 4.5 and this is what I get from /var/log/messages

    Aug 20 09:49:04 sv1 named[20943]: starting BIND 9.2.4 -u named
    Aug 19 23:49:04 sv1 named[20943]: using 2 CPUs
    Aug 19 23:49:04 sv1 named[20943]: loading configuration from '/etc/named.conf'
    Aug 19 23:49:04 sv1 named[20943]: none:0: open: /etc/named.conf: permission denied
    Aug 19 23:49:04 sv1 named[20943]: loading configuration: permission denied
    Aug 19 23:49:04 sv1 named[20943]: exiting (due to fatal error)

    And I believed it has nothing to do with the normal permission such as (chown named.named) problems. Is there a way that I can figure this out? Actually few services are still down

    eximstats,spamd and named. Any suggestions much appreciate.

    Default linux/ Unix thirst

    Hello ,
    The below commands are right but in fact before going ahead with the

    --> /scripts/rebuildnamedconf
    please do this before above:

    --> mv /etc/named.conf named.conf.bk
    and then execute the /scripts/rebuildnamedconf. this should fix it
