    Default Nameserver setup.

    Hi,

This is my first time using WHM, so don't be too hard on me

I have a single server, let's call it host.net. I have 3 IP addresses in my pool. One is the main IP of the server, the other two I want to use for my primary and secondary nameservers, ns1.host.net, and ns2.host.net.

How do I setup the nameservers ns1.host.net and ns2.host.net using those two IP addresses in my pool?

    Thanks!
    Jeremy

Goto where you registered your domain name

Create name servers. There should be an option there.

    Point
ns1.host.net = main ip of the box
ns2.host.net = any other IP on the box

Then make sure those name servers are listed in the &edit setup& section in WHM.

    All done!

Uh-oh, not exactly (I think). They must be entered in the DNS zone of the domain.
    ns1 IN NS 1st IP.
    ns2 IN NS 2nd IP.

    Or something like this.

Hmm... I'll give the first idea a shot, and if it doesnt work I'll add that to the DNS zone. Thanks!
