    Default Native SSL support failed/SSLeay

    Hello everyone,

I'm receiving this error on reboot and random times during the day:

Native SSL support failed to pass the startup test. stunnel was started instead.
The exact error was: /usr/local/cpanel/bin/linktest-ssl: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/cpanel/perl/Net/SSLeay/SSLeay.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

You should attempt run /usr/local/cpanel/bin/nativessl-install or submit a support request at https://tickets.cpanel.net/submit/
Now what I was wondering is, should I just try to install Net::SSLeay?

Thanks in advance for your time

I've just checked and I already see Net::SSLeay installed, should I re-install it?

Have you done either of these steps?

You should attempt run /usr/local/cpanel/bin/nativessl-install or submit a support request at https://tickets.cpanel.net/submit/

    Default Possible Solution

    All,
I ended up submitting a ticket regarding this issue and this was the fix for me.

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=

    I fixed this by symlinking

    /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/ExtUtils/xsubpp

    to

    /usr/local/cpanel/perl/ExtUtils/xsubpp

Then I was able to run the nativessl installer without issue.

    =-=-=-=-==-=-=

    Hope that helps someone.

Please note that symlinking from /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib into /usr/local/cpanel/perl is not recommended. Doing this mixes modules and libraries from two different versions of Perl, which will have unknown and unintended consequences.

I realize that you, Paul, did not do this, it was a support analyst
