We get all the time from people: "We would never use your services, you send us viruses".
Make it so Mailscanner + Clame AV integrates better, faster and by default. Make an option where hosts can disable it if they want, but I would like not to have to install it. Plus it would be great to keep it updated.
Fix the add-on and parked domain issues where if they are removed and then re-added they actually work properly. As of 8.8 S74 they still give the dns still there error.
Work on Cpanel security!!!!! Can't stress that enough.
I am not so sure I like the idea of a lite, regular and pro version really. Cpanel is the most expensive panel out there and we use it because customers want it. The problem fixes of Cpanel are traditionally very slow. We have tickets that get one response then we never hear anything again until we get that annoying "has this been fixed" email a month later. I would prefer you have an integrated version with your Pro features, you up the support/stability and work on fixing bugs and securing your product.
One other thing, fix it so pure-ftpd registers the bandwidth used by users. It is long overdue.

Otherwise, maybe cPanel would consider reimbursing hosts for used but unreported bandwidth?
And, while on the topic, perhaps cPanel would consider coming up with a "better" bug report system. I'm sure that cPanel has hundreds of tickets opened for each and every issue. Maintaining an online listing of reported bugs and status of fix would probably reduce the amount of time spent reading/responding to those repetitive requests.
Please add the ability to run Apache 2... I know this isn't as easily done as it is said... but all of your hard work to make that kind of migration would be SO GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Nick, I could be wrong but I believe 90% of cPanel customers want chroot filesystem.
Here's the url in case you missed it.
http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....threadid=18902
I would also like to be able to add software links to whm, resellerpanel, cpanel and mailpanel without it being overwritten when skin is updated - I don't believe this should be a Pro only feature, it should be on Lite and up.
Feature disable does not work on mailpanel - ie. Boxtrapper cannot be removed from mailpanels, by unchecking that feature. The mailpanel is now a real 4th level panel and needs to be treated as more than just an addon.

I agree. We should be able to add any link to our own scripts inside whm, cpanel, reseller panel etc. It would make our life's a lot easier.Originally posted by rs-freddo

I think that would help things out - be much easier for everyone involved...
chroot. period!
clustering.
fix bugs
My Only feature additions to what exist would be the following:
chroot environment
Full Language support for all X themes. This has been promised but never delivered.
True clustering that allows separate dabase and mail servers but doesn't require them.
And thought this is not a feature of the panel, I would prefer a better bug reporting and tracking system more like bugzilla so that we can search and add to bug reports made by others.
As for breakdown of versions and features:
cPanel - Lite
Pretty much what we have now plus chroot environment, minus the addon scripts, maybe remove multiple them support, and reseller account support.
Cpanel - Standard
Pretty much what we have now plus chroot environment, plus a way to make sure that that addon scripts are up to date so that when a client installs one, they are getting the most secure installation possible, plus better support for the theming and branding of the mail interfaces, so that I can change more than just the header and footer without my changes getting overwritten, plus true clustering.
Cpanel - Pro
Whatever additional features you want.

TLC Web Enterprises
I would like to have:
1) Apache2
2) Ability to use a fifth name server.
3) Get rid of the duplicate ns4-# boxes on Edit Setup. (I'm having trouble with NS4: Ticket #38599)
4) Latest production release of MySQL
5) MailScanner+ClamAV to come standard
6) Higher security default settings (such as php open_basedir tweak enabled)
7) Get rid of useless choices for cpanel themes (NO, YES, y)
8) Fix more bugs, always fix more bugs...when you find them

Here are some things I would like to see:
1) Get rid of system email accounts for users. All email accounts should be virtual. In many cases the system email account never gets checked and mail just piles up. A brand new account would have no email.
2) Change the layout of the users home directory so that multiple domain hosting is better supported and more logical. This would probably be a pretty big change, but I think it should look something like this:
The control panel would be divided into account functions and domain functions and the user would select the domain they would be working with for the domain functions.Code:/home/account/account_specific_directories /home/account/domain1/mail /home/account/domain1/public_html /home/account/domain1/other_domain_specific_directories /home/account/domain2/mail /home/account/domain2/public_html /home/account/domain2/other_domain_specific_directories
I'm not sure what the target is for the different version of Cpanel, but here's what I would like to see.
Cpanel Lite
- I think this should be geared toward server owners who do not do hosting. Just a control panel for the administrator with maybe some very basic features for an end user control panel like email administration.
Cpanel 9.0
- Cpanel as it is now.
Cpanel Pro
- I would like to see something along the lines of *-Sphere where you have a Control Panel server, email server, database server, web server, etc. It would be able to handle shared accounts as well as set up a dedicated server.
I don't think Cpanel should include billing or a help desk, but I would like to see some hooks to make it easier to integrate these applications. An API to enable single sign on or maybe a common user account info database that can be shared between Cpanel and other applications.
Richard
And if possible option to select language of X skin when you create packages.Originally posted by Marty

Something like that would be very nice to have for server admins that have a lot of sign ups a day. Thanks for mentioning thatOriginally posted by bamasbest

That's another issue I opened a ticket on about a year ago but never got addressed. There seems to be alot of these "open" tickets, though to Nick's credit, within a couple of days of me posting a few of them here again last week, Nick went and fixed those issues (one was a bug and one was an enhancement - this one is also definitely just an enhancmeent, albeit a handy one, so it would be nice to see it one day; the default values are way too high).Originally posted by bamasbest
