New server, mail problem

I am unable to recieve email on the url

mail.hostwithus.co.uk

But can recieve email ok if I put the mail servers to

hostwithus.co.uk

I would prefer the mail servers to be mail.hostwithus.co.uk and am unsure how I would change this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated
