    Try this first...

    cd /usr/local/apache/libexec
    ls -l mod_jk*

    post here what the result is... I'm thinking the wrong mod_jk might be loaded.

    You should though have something like so..
    Code:
    lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           15 Apr  9 17:37 mod_jk.so -> mod_jk.so.0.0.0*
    lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           15 Apr  9 17:37 mod_jk.so.0 -> mod_jk.so.0.0.0*
    -rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root       235895 Apr 24 08:42 mod_jk.so.0.0.0*

    I recompiled mod_jk and tried just about everything else but no go. I keep reading about classpaths when I do searches for the errors I am experiencing but I have checked everything and still no go.

    I can see this is going to be a looooong weekend.

    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 855712 May 5 17:37 mod_jk.a
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 710 May 5 17:37 mod_jk.la

    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 May 5 17:37 mod_jk.so.0 -> mod_jk.so.0.0.0*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 235895 May 7 11:36 mod_jk.so.0.0.0*

    I would appreciate if you could check it out, I will even pay for the install to be done like I did with AexiSolutions.

    4 servers are experiencing the problems 3 RH9 and 1 RHE 3. I did have the 4.0.3 installed on the 3 RH 9 server beforehand without problems.

    Can you email me and I will respond with the server login...

    My pleasure! I'm just glad it is resolved. Gotta now remember to make this the first question to ask when someone has a similar issue.

    1 thing I have noticed in /usr/local/apache/conf/workers.properties that is called by jk.conf, it contains this..

    Code:
    workers.tomcat_home=/usr/local/jakarta/jakarta-tomcat-4.1
    workers.java_home=/usr/local/jre
    ps=/
    worker.list=ajp12, ajp13

    # Definition for Ajp13 worker
    #
    worker.ajp13.port=8009
    worker.ajp13.host=localhost
    worker.ajp13.type=ajp13
    Surely tomcat_home shouldnt link to a folder that doesnt exist, am going to change it to /usr/local/jakarta/jakarta-tomcat-5.0.19

    Any ideas about this?

    Correct it is pointing to an older version. CHange it though to /usr/local/jakarta/tomcat that way it is not tied to a release and would work for future upgrades.

    Also as noted for Planet_Master make sure to remove the AddTypes from httpd.conf for .jsp

    If still not working let me know and maybe I can take a look for you.
