    Use this instead:

    /scripts/exim4

The rest of those who have gone before us cannot steady the unrest of those to follow.

Ran into the same problem with /scripts/newexim

Tried ciphervendor's suggestion of /scripts/exim4 and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

And that would do what, exactly?

    WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.3-E1

Exim freaked on me last night and overloaded the Server with too many open SMTP connections. Had to have a manual reboot done to bring things back to normal.

I've got Exim randomly freaking on some servers. I've got another where spamd is running wild, even though SpamAssassin is disabled.

All this since the last upgrade (i'm on stable).

Cpanel knows about the spamd issue and apparently has been unable to do anything beyond running that absolutely ridiculous excuse for a 'feature' for the mailperm in WHM. (HELLO...how about including an option for the switches that the script offers, like --skiplocaldomains...guess nobody needs to ever do that, right???? It renders the WHM interface for the script USELESS not to have the switches!!!)

So, they ran that without telling me and messed up all the email accounts that were going off server. Then, restarted exim when I precisely told them that doing that would let spamd go wild again if you didn't kill -9 the processes. So, at 3am they crashed my server.

Then, the guy washed his hands of it by saying that the mail queue was too full (not true)

So, I emptied the mail queue and guess what? Spamd is still killing the server if you don't kill -9 all the processes after restarting exim! Surprise!

But of course, what do I know? I'm just a guy who's too dumb to empty a mail queue before waiting 2 days with a problem for someone to answer at Cpanel.

Sorry for ranting in your thread, but I'm kinda pissed about this...

There laughing at all the troubles they have caused everyone.

It seems since the password security issues last Friday all releases from cpanel have fubared the hell out of many servers. I don't understand how modernbill can hire someone to do audits but cpanel who make 10x the amount of money modernbill does can't afford to hired a special audit team.

Just plain pisses me off also.
