No longer able to log in with main account name and view all mailboxes..after Maildir

Since we upgraded our servers to Maildir we had a few customers report that when the log in to Horde/Squirrelmail with their main account username and password they no longer see all their mailboxes (ie. all mailboxes under that hosting account) and apparently they were able to do this before the Maildir upgrade (although i was never aware of this).

Anyone know what happened/changed and if it's possible to reverse changes ? ie. be able to log in with MAIN account name and see all mailboxes..

The feature is disabled in the new maildir structure. Any more information and you'll likely to have to contact cPanel and ask them.

Any resolution to this? I was not aware this would be a result of converting to maildir. I attempted to use subscribe folders in squirrelmail but it doesn't give me the option of choosing any of the other folders. This seems to be more secure, but in some cases all the accounts are mine and I like being able to check them from one location rather than having to log into each account separately.

I even didn't know this functionality would disappear through the conversion.

Is there really no workaround for this???

My WHM >> Restart Services shows IMAP Server (uwimap) and POP3 Server (cppop) but the server was converted to MailDir format last month.

Should WHM be showing these old services or are these just legacy labels?

What CL commands could I run to check which IMAP and POP server is in fact running?

I've been searching for some fix on this. Some unhappy clients who really do need to view all their mailboxes in one go.

Is there a way around this, some tweak that can be implemented, or something?

A workaround was published here:-

but note there are a couple of typo's - the example should read

ln -s example.com/george .george\@example_com
ln -s example.com/fred .fred\@example_com

(misspelling of george and underscores instead of periods)
