    Default Oh now this is interesting!

    I was looking at upgrading phpMyAdmin to v 2.4.0. When i went to /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty i discovered something very interesting.

    drwxr-sr-x 7 503 nuvuweb 4096 Dec 2 2001 phpMyAdmin/
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 503 nuvuweb 11 Sep 25 16:12 phpMyAdminRR -> phpMyAdmin//
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 582206 Oct 30 11:29 phpmychat.tar.gz
    drwxr-xr-x 4 503 nuvuweb 4096 Dec 2 2001 phpSysInfo/

    nuvuweb is not me. Its one of our resellers. Like to know how this happened including why nuvuweb also owns all the files in phpmyadmin/ and phpSysinfo which i didnt even know about.

    Very interesting!

    Whoever packed this files had uid 503 and the same gid as nuwuweb as in your machine. When decompressing of copying those files the numeric uid and gid are still the same. I guess that upcp or whatever script updates these files should issue a chown command as well.

    Its supposed to be chown cpanel.cpanel and all the files inside phpMyAdmin, chown -R cpanel.cpanel phpMyAdmin.

    So, would that mean 503 is the first account setup on the Server? My listing shows 503:myself and mine was the first account. The 503:myself also shows for all files inside phpMyAdmin and it works fine for all accounts.
