optimize CPanel/WHM for VPS?

I plan to put around 20 low traffic sites on a VPS. Some use mysql. The sites will not consume a lot of memory. Is 256MB RAM generally enough with CPanel/WHM installed?

Also I was thinking I could disable named (don't need an authorative nameserver) and mailman to free up some more memory. Any other things I can do to optimize CPanel/WHM on a VPS?

I would not go with less than 512k minimum for Cpanel / WHM ....

Disabling named is extremely unwise as that is also used for
a lot of internal processes as well as account resolutioin.

The various chat servers, mailman, etc should be fine to deactivate
and won't hurt anything if you turn those off.

Is CPanel/WHM really that much of a resource hog? What exactly are the processes taking up the resources? From what I read DirectAdmin seems to do ok with 256MB.

I will ofcourse put 2 authoritive nameservers in my /etc/resolv.conf (the vps provider allows you to use their nameservers).
