Optimize Website Option on Cpanel/alternative

I have a VPS that has an option to compress content under "Software/Services--> optimize website" and on another account I do not have this option.... can I achieve this same result by some other means since I don't have this option maybe through php.ini or some other way.

Hello there,

That option requires mod_deflate to compiled with apache. If you have access to easyapache on the second server, you can recompile with mod_deflate checked.

Thanks even thought what you are talking about is Chinese to me but at least it puts me in the right direction... I will go harass the admin now...

Chris is correct; the option "Optimize Website" in cPanel is dependent upon having the module "mod_deflate" compiled into the Apache/httpd web server so that support for DEFLATE compression is available. Apache (and PHP) may be recompiled using EasyApache via either root WHM access or root SSH access and this is usually only accessible to the Server Administrator or hosting service provider.
