Optimizing CPanel/WHM

I'm wondering... I can optimize Apache using httpd.conf, I can optimize MySQL using my.cnf. The result is that these applications run more efficiently. But what about WHM/CPanel? Is there a file I can edit to optimize WHM/CPanel? ::)

Not really, no. The back-end either runs or it doesn't. If you're finding it's running too slowly, then you probably need to look at throwing more hardware at it.

OK. One more question then: about the extracpus option in /var/cpanel/cpanel.config - what does it do?

Look in WHM. It describes it as "The load average above the number of cpus at which logs file processing should be suspended (default 0)". It also affects the cpabel backup processes.
