    Default OS commerce db corupted

    Hi,
I have OS Commerce running on a domain, and every 7 to 10 days the db becomes corupted. My client normaly calls and from WHM I run 'Repair a Local DataBase' to fix it, this is OK if I'm available.
I can also run the following command from root to fix it 'myisamchk -r /var/lib/mysql/db_name/*.MYI', could someone help me by telling me what I should put in a Cron tab to run this every 30 mins., so if I'm not avaliable the thing will fix it's self.
Is there a way for the client to fix it?
    Thanks.

What version of SQL are you running?

If you've repaired the database numerous times you may want to consider some alternatives:

    1. dumping, removing, re-creating and importing the database.

    2. fsck /var

    3. check to make sure that you're using the 4.x client with the 4.x server.

You may also want to check dmesg, messages & the mysql error log to see if there are any clues there.

The only way I got rid of the database corruption problems was to downgrade from 4.x to 3.x. As far as I know, 4.x has not been fixed yet.

4.x works fine. Just make sure that you have the 4.x client compiled and that your applications are up to date.

I might as well just explain it in these forums again. When you're running the 4.x server by choosing it in tweak settings or your machine comes with it the client that's used to connect to MySQL is left at 3.x.

Basically what you have to do is recompile PHP on your machine. If you have a new directory of the buildapache source then you can use that, simply go to the PHP source directory within, get the old configure command via phpinfo page (for the lazy), make clean, use the configure command you snagged from phpinfo but change the mysql path to /usr (i.e. --with-mysql=/usr), make, make install. Restart apache and you're gold.

I make no warranties, use at your own risk, yadda yadda yadda.
