    Default PAM-Listfile ???

    PAM-listfile: Couldn't open /etc/ftpusers
vital.do-host.com (194.65.138.120[194.65.138.120]) - PAM(user@domain.com): User not known to the underlying authentication module.
Can someone tell what this means ????

Getting the same on one of my boxes. All coming from the same IP... I assumed he trying to brute force.

Anyone knows if cpanel blocks these attempts automatically? Or should we use our own rules?

    Thanks,
    Hedgy

These are checks for users listed in /etc/ftpusers

In this file you can add users who are not allowed to logon to your server, for example :

    demo
    test
