Password modification works for ftp..not cpanel

Hi guys,

I have reset an account password using the 'password modification' function.
We are able to ftp to the account with the new pass..however, cpanel doesn't log us in.

any ideas why?

WHM 11.11.0 cPanel 11.15.0-R18264
CENTOS 4.5 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

Theme: X3

This account had been restored from backup before.

I have tried restart cpanel too.

Still no go.

try un-suspending the account even if its not in the list of suspended accounts list.

this will un-lock the password if it was locked due to earlier suspension.
