    Default Periodic Server Load Spikes

I've got a server that has very few users on it and normally the load runs well under 1. But periodically the load will spike very high 25+ and often then just crashes. I have looked at the logs and it just seems during those times there are lots of http requests on one account, which is the only really active account.

I've had the data center do a hardware check, nothing. I've had various people look at the logs, mysql processes, etc. No one has been able to figure this out. We've been looking at various scripts such as a chat script and turned that off completely but the same thing happened a couple days later.

The account where all the requests are coming from is running WordPress Multi User (WPMU).

I'd love some ideas of where to look. Will post more specifics like server specs and OS if it helps.

You might consider CSF: ConfigServer Security & Firewall This can give you lots more information on this sort of thing, and be set to kill a process if you like.

Thanks. Have that installed. Have not been able to figure out how to use that to resolve the problem.

You're not getting emails from LFD about suspicious processes running?
