    Default Periodic Server Load Spikes

I've got a server that was humming along fine. Suddenly, starting last week, every few hours the load spikes to 135 or more, then 10 minutes later subsides to a normal level.

This seems to somewhat coincide with some php scripts that are run as cron jobs. But these scripts have been running fine, some for years without any issue.
