    cPanel/Enkompass Access Level

    DataCenter Provider

    Cool

You might need 'a+x' or 'execute' permissions on the directory &/or file, both to get the Perl running.

    Default

You need to set the permissions on the cgi-bin directory to 755 which is set by default by Cpanel. All the permissions on the .pl file should be 755.
The 500 internal server error is mostly generated by incorrect permissions.
If the permissions are set as specified above then check the apache error logs for more information.
