    Default Php

    Hello,

I am having a PHP problem.

All my forums seem to have stopped working and the last thing I did on my server was "rm -rf php0px1x8" in /tmp.

    Some Forum URLs:

    http://www.zeonservers.co.uk/forum
    http://www.unssfree.com/forums

This is NOT A FORUM SOFTWARE ISSUE. It is a SERVER ISSUE because *all* forums have stopped working, and they are all different software.

    Can someone please help me,

    Thanks,
    Mini

We don't shout in these forums, thankyou.

    http://www.zeonservers.co.uk/forum
Gives this sortware error on loading which should be investigated:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/zeonserv/public_html/forum/index.php on line 211

    http://www.zeonservers.co.uk/forum
    Loads and operates just fine.

    Hello,

Sorry, I was not meaning to shout, I was just pointing out that it was a server issue.

    Also, the forums don't load.

    Thanks,
    Mini

Please use Bold to point out your issues.

Also are these really cPanel or WHM related?

As I pointed out in my post one forum won't load because of a software code error and the other loaded just fine for me.

Fix the code error and clear your browser cache for the other error and then have another go.

    Hello again,

I chose option 8 (restore default configuration) in easy apache and now I get

    root@kathrine [~]# /etc/init.d/httpd restart
/etc/init.d/httpd restart: httpd not running, trying to start
Syntax error on line 1084 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Invalid command 'BytesLog', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration
/etc/init.d/httpd restart: httpd could not be started

Could anyone please help me with this.

    Thanks,
    Mini

A search for byteslog might reveal a fix for you quicker than waiting for a reply. The search facility is really your best friend and should be tried before posting a question as most often the question has been asked and answered many time before.

This is a little known fix which might help you out:
    /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf
    /scripts/restartsrv_apache

Try doing the below steps :-
Login to the server as root and edit the file httpd.conf
    vi /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf
    :1,$ s/^BytesLog/#BytesLog/g
    and Save the file.

    OR

    /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs -iac mod_log_bytes.c

    Restart apache in both case.
    service httpd restart

Hope the above steps will help you.

And regarding both of your forums :-
    http://www.zeonservers.co.uk/forum
    http://www.unssfree.com/forums
    They are working fine.

    Thanks for your help.

It's all sorted now. But it seems like reuploading a fresh set of files fixed the problems. Something had corrupted the PHP files which I do not know why.
