With firefox some sites shows this error

    Redirect Loop

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Before getting into other items, your errors suggest you may have a permission issue you may want to look into.

Also, are you running FastCGI? If you are running PHP as SuPHP, you should not be running FastCGI when you compile Apache. There are a number of technical reasons for this but bottom line is that running both can cause you some compatibility issues and can actually slow performance of your server instead of improving it as you might otherwise think.

Now regarding sessions, you may want to take a very close look at your PHP.INI file (/usr/local/lib/php.ini) and check your settings for setting up your sessions. Sometimes when PHP is recompiled (any version - doesn't matter),
the PHP.INI file will get updated and you might lose your settings to allow for sessions. This is usually a very quick fix though so check your PHP.INI file first.
