What does this error mean, and how may I fix it ? I am installing cPanel for the first time, php does not seem to work.

Looks like you will probably have to recompile Apache/PHP on your machine. Either download buildapache or /scripts/easyapache and choose the level of customization your comfortable with.

Have done that. First I tried level 5, then I tried level 1. But still the same error...

Perhaps you should try to get your hands on an older copy of buildapache.

Solved by following http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....highlight=SAPI
..or...I think it then was installed as Not Sapi...so it´s might not solve...
