    Default php and Soap

I need to enable Soap which requires me to download and compile php manually using the --enable-soap option. My question is whether me doing this is going to cause any problems with cpanel as I know doing things manually always seems to get jacked up at some point when cpanel updates.

Does anyone know if its possible to have cpanel recompile and update php? I know the version on the server is older than the latest release and I'd like to have it updated anyway.

    Thanks,

    glenn

You can enable it with the help of easyapache via SSH.

    # /scripts/easyapache
