    Default PhpMyAdmin and Mysql

    Hello everybody,

    I have a problem:

    PhpMyAdmin doesn't work from the link in the WHM (http://xxxxx:2086/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php)

    It shows the message:

    -----
    Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.5.6
    Wrong username/password. Access denied.
    -----

    I enable Mysql Logs in /etc/my.cnf and didn't see any message about this error.

    I think that the problem is in the configuration of PhpMyAdmin.

    Anyone had this problem?

    Passwork is already setted.

    I try this script:

    #!/usr/bin/perl

    use DBI;
    use DBD::mysql;

    my $dbh = DBI->connect("dbi:mysql:mysql:localhost", "root", "**********") or die;

    and it works perfectly.

    The problem is in phpMyAdmin

    Thanks for your response.

    Try resetting the MySQL root password in whm (even if you enter the same one) That was good advice.

    Failing that you could also try

    mv /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin.bak

    /scripts/upcp --force

    That should fix the issue.

    Hum,

    after the upgrade, the following message appears:

    040910 17:45:16 11 Connect Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)
    040910 17:45:17 12 Connect Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)

    I try to reset the mysql password by whm, but without success

    Eventually got it working by removing the " from /root/.my.cnf

    remove the " from your .my.cnf file so "root" --> root and "password" --> password

    Hope this helps

    removing " from there can cause a security issue. Better idea is to update to current.

    Default root directory

    I don't think that this is a security risk to remove the " in the /root/.my.cnf because the directory /root is protected in permission. Only root should can access /root.
