    Default POP Accounts disappearing

We are having a few clients write in complaining about their POP accounts being deleted. One user claims to have enabled SpamAssassin and then when he went to check why he wasn't receiving mail, the POP accounts had been deleted. I did not put much thought into this at the time, but we are starting to see this happen quite frequently and no discernable consistencies. The users just write in saying their POP accounts have disappeared. Has anyone else experienced this problem? We are running cPanel 9.9.8-S6.

is this a server-wide issue or just that some specific customers face this problem ?

If you check the changelog I think you'll find various fixes around this issue in EDGE.

Where is the changelog for Edge? Do you know how long it will take for these changes to make it to Stable or Release?

Concerning whether or not this is a server-wide issue, right now we have only had about 5 customers report this problem on the same server. We haven't been able to determine if there is something specific that is causing the problem. I know that isn't a lot of helpful information, but I just wanted to check if anyone else had this problem or knew about it.

    Thanks

No idea when the next release of stable will be out, you'd need to contact cPanel (cpanel@billing.net) or hope someone happens by

I've also had this happen to 4 different domains, now.

Doesn't seem to be a pattern, and I hope it will be resolved soon.

Customers aren't happy when their email accounts disappear for no reason.

I saw this recently and the issue was that the valias file had some junk in it that needed to be cleared up. Then I upcp'd it and they all came back without errors

I updated to the latest stable, but the mailbox are still not showing in cpanel or available via smtp delivery, however the directories exist when I look in /home/username/mail/domain/.. Any ideas? This is affecting one MAJOR account with opver 200 mailboxes, thanks.

Well, upgrading won't fix any accounts that werescrewed up previously (you'll probably need to log a TT with cPanel for them to fix that). If you're saying that since upgrading it is still screwing up accounts, then you should log it in bugzilla or a TT and let them have a look.
