Default POP accounts need password reset over and over

We have a customer with a large amount of pop email accounts and on occassion when they add a new email address or two (for new employees, etc) some of the other users email addresses stop responding to their normal login info (addresses not related to the new ones that were added or removed). To fix this their webmaster logs in and resets the password to the same password the user had already been using and then it works again. This apparently has been occuring for quite some time now.

We have quite a few servers and haven't had this with our other accounts so I'm wondering if anyone might know of a fix. Thanks.

That's not something I've heard of recently. Are you using the latest version of cPanel on the server for the tree it's setup for?

If so, running the following to ensure the domain is setup correctly might help:

    /scripts/updateuserdomains

    if that runs cleanly:

    /scripts/mailperm

    This particular server is:

    cPanel 10.8.1-R30
    CentOS 3.6 i686

We have quite a few servers and I haven't run into this issue before. Was this something which happened in the past with older version of cpanel? Thanx.

    Hi,

I can confirm this issue. Resetting the passwords to what they already were works fine. What's the deal here?

update: webmail works fine, IMAP does not (this password has not yet been reset).

    Anyone found a solution?

    Thanks
