Hi,
for some reason on one of our servers, the post install of cPanel is taking a real long time to finish. It has never done this before and we are at a loss as to why it is doing this.
any idea why this may be happening?
Thanks

It can happen if it picks a slow mirror to get the updates from - or if the cpan mirror it chooses decides to slow down. Check the cpanel* thread logs in /var/log/ for a guess at where it's balking incase of errors. You could also strace the last PID in the tree to make sure it's not stuck/looping somewhere. If all else fails - and you've waiting a good couple of hours - you can always abort and start again, though it's best to let it run its course if you can.

Jonathan,
I have already checked the logs and it seems to be GD that is causing the holdup.
Any ideas how to speed this along?
Thanks
