Postgresql 8.4?

When will Cpanel start supporting the latest versions of what is now a very popular database? It's such a pain to install the latest versions of DB. Anyone has step by step instructions? Thanks!

Howdy,

Just out of curiosity what OS/version/arch are you installing it on?

Thanks!

Using Enkompass compared to cPanel is like going to a MacDonald’s in France, sure they’ve got the same things we have over here, but it’s a little different.

uname tells me this:

Code:
CENTOS 4.7 i686
Linux 2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp
cat /proc/version also shows this:

Code:
gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3)
Thanks!

We only support the version of PostgreSQL that is provided by the operating system vendor.

8.4 works on CentOS. Not sure what you mean by operating system vendor. Do you mean RPMs only? There are ready-made RPMs too.

Operating System vendor refers to the folks that make the OS itself. For example, if you are using CentOS, we would only support the PostgreSQL that is supplied by CentOS.
