I am trying to add an IP address in WHM. It works and the IP is green, but when I try to pin the IP there is no response.
Check whether the IP address is bound to a virtual NIC device using:
ifconfig
If it is and ping fails, then either it's configured incorrectly (e.g. with the wrong netmask or on the wrong controller) or it's not being routed correctly. Either way, only your NOC can help with that.
